The Department of English conducted a Guest Lecture on 9 May, 2025 on ” Stress: Symptoms and Management” by Ms. T Rohini, Psychologist & Counsellor. Ms. Rohini drew attention of the audience that several factors such as family expectations, academic pressure, social media contributed to stress in young people. She expounded the need for ‘Positive Stress’ as it can lead to personal growth and improved well-being unlike ‘Stress’. Several coping strategies such as mindful meditation, prioritizing goals, breathingtechniques, time management will help in combating stress.
Forum for a Better Hyderabad (FBH), in collaboration with World Rivers Day, Canada, Civil Society Groups, Government City College, and Deccan Heritage Academy, JBR Architecture College among other educational institutions, organized a walk along the banks of Shamirpet Lake here on 22nd September 2024 commemorating the ‘World Rivers Day’. Smt. V. Pratyusha, Asst. Prof, H&S Dept., Environmental Club In-charge of JBREC participated in the event.
February 28 is the NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY. We have celebrated the occasion on 28-02-2024 by conducting activities for 1st year students with a moto ‘enhance scientific attitude and temperament’. Our Principal, Dr. B. Venkata Ramana Reddy was Chief Guest and Vice Principal; Dr. T.V.S. Arun Murthy organized the event. In the Paper presentation competition, 22 students participated. T. Praseeda of CSE-C stood first, C. Shiva of CSM-A bagged the second position. For the Video Creation, competition 5 teams participated. L. Ganesh of CSE B stood first, Thakur Ashmitha of CSE-B won the second prize. In the Elocution competition 9 students participated. Harika of CSM-A won the first position, Second position was bagged by C. Shiva of CSM-A and Third position by Srivani of CSE-A.
National mathematics day was celebrated in the memory of great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan on 22nd December 2023. Mathematics is an important part of our daily lives and a powerful tool for understanding our surroundings. The main goal of the celebration is to raise public awareness about the value of mathematics in the advancement of humanity. We can’t ignore the fact that several initiatives are being undertaken to motivate, enthuse, and instill a positive attitude towards learning mathematics among the country’s younger generation.
Department of Humanities & Sciences has a tradition of conducting mathematician’s birthdays so to inculcate interest and research attitude towards mathematics. In this regard, Ramanujan’s 134th birthday was celebrated on 22nd December, 2021 by the department. The faculty members shared the Life achievements of famous mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
Finally Dr.V.Usha Shree Principal and Dr.T.V.S. Arun Murthy, Vice-Principal & HOD, H&S Dept.,. have motivated and inspired with a discussion to the students.
