Electrical & Electronics Engineering


The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Joginpally B.R. Engineering College was established in the year 2003. This department offers one under graduate program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with an intake of 60 students. The first batch of EEE students has completed their four year program successfully with lots of appreciations. The department is now fully established with excellent laboratories and competent staff. All these labs are equipped with latest devices as per JNTU norms and syllabus. The departmental library has 250 volumes of national & International Journals.

To produce comprehensively trained, socially responsible, innovative electrical engineers and researchers of high quality who can contribute for the nation’s and global development.

MISSION

                The mission of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is to provide academic environment with a strong theoretical foundation, practical engineering skills, experience in interpersonal communication and teamwork along with emphasis on ethics, professional conduct and critical thinking. Further, the graduates will be trained to have successful engagement in research and development and entrepreneurship.

Programme Learning Outcomes:
Students in the Electronics and Communication Engineering program should, at the time of their graduation, are in possession of:

  1. Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.
  2. Ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  3. Ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
  4. Ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
  5. Ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
  6. Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively.
  8. Broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
  9. Recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
  10. Knowledge of contemporary issues.
  11. Ability to utilize experimental, statistical and computational methods and tools necessary for engineering practice.
  12. Graduates will demonstrate an ability to design electrical and electronic circuits, power electronics, power systems; electrical machines analyze and interpret data and also an ability to design digital and analog systems and programming them.

PSO

  • PSO I: Apply the knowledge of Mathematics, Science and Electrical Engineering fundamentals to solve complex problems in electrical machines, control systems, power systems and electronics.
  • PSO II: Ability to understand the recent technological developments in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and develop products/software to cater the societal & Industrial needs.
  • PSO III: Analyse and Design suitable controllers and power converters for the given system
  • PSO IV : Introduce and improvise the ability to apply project management techniques to electrical and electronics systems.

Head of the Department:

 

Dr. M. Kondalu received B.Tech. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Nagarjuna University, Guntur, in 1999. M. Tech. in Power Electronics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Hyderabad, India in 2005 and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India in 2015. 

Currently he is Professor & HOD of Electrical & Electronics Engineering in Joginpally B.R Engineering College, Hyderabad. He was held various administrative positions: Examination Branch Incharge of Joginpally B.R Engineering College during April, 2014 to March, 2016.

He has 54 research publications in International/ National journals/conferences to his credit. He has chaired many sessions in International/National Conferences and delivered more than 5 guest Lectures/key note addresses. He is involved in various committees as a part of administration.

He is Fellow of Institution Engineers (India), Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Life Member of ISTE & IEEE.

His main research interest includes: High Voltage Engineering, Power Electronics, and Power Systems.
