Master of Business Administration - MBA

School of Management Studies of Joginpally B. R. Engineering College was established in the year 2006-2007. The School of Management Studies offers 2-year (4 Semesters) MBA Programme approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH). The intake for MBA programme is 60 students for every year. The faculty of the department is filled with eminent and experienced personalities with the motive of the overall development of the students. The department organizes seminars, workshops and faculty development programs. The pedagogy of School of Management includes case study method, group discussion and role plays etc. Nine (9) batches of students have graduated so far and many of them were well placed in different companies.

The Mission
  1. To mentor the students to transform and advance in managerial and administrative practices, entrepreneurial skills through brainstorming, cases studies and research work that augment organization performance.
  2. To formulate a tenacious research and teaching atmosphere that responds dynamically to the contemporary issues and obtains managerial solutions.

  1. To create the students as effective professionals by solving real problems through the use of management science knowledge and with attention to team work, effective communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills. 
  2. To develop professional skills that prepares students for immediate employment and for life-long learning in advanced areas of management and related fields. 
  3. To acquire an ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment by having learned and applied new skills and new competencies.
  4. To provide with an educational foundation that prepares them for excellence, leadership roles along diverse career paths with encouragement to professional ethics and active participation needed for a successful career

Program Outcomes (Pos)

  1. An ability to apply conceptual business foundations to solve practical decision-making problems, both individually and as part of teams using techniques such as case analysis, projects and assignments.
  2. An ability to develop a systematic understanding of globalization and its impact on people, businesses and the economy.
  3. An ability to demonstrate a critical awareness of current issues (e.g., diversity, social responsibility, sustainability, innovation, knowledge management, etc.) in business and management which is informed by leading edged research and practice in the field.
  4. An ability to function effectively on multi-disciplinary teams (Team work).
  5. An ability to analyze a problem identifies, formulate and use the appropriate managerial skills for obtaining its solution.
  6. An ability to recognize and address ethical issues and values and apply them in organizational settings.
  7.  An ability to understand professional, ethical, legal, financial, marketing, sales, logistical security and social issues and responsibilities (Professional integrity).
  8. An ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally (Speaking / Writing skills).
  9. An ability to use information and knowledge effectively: scanning and organizing data, synthesizing and analysing in order to abstract meaning from information, and to share knowledge.
  10. An ability to acquire knowledge of contemporary issues (Social awareness).

Head of the Department:

The JBREC School of Management Studies is headed by Dr. G. Chandra Sekhar, MBA, Ph.D, PGDIRPM, and PGDCA, who is innovative and inspiring in character. He teaches Marketing and Systems. He has over 10 years of experience in Industry, Teaching, Research and Consultancy. He has published many research papers in reputed national and international journals. He attended Professional Development Program at Suranari University of Technology, Thailand and alumni of International Space University, France. He also taught in international universities abroad.   Presently, he is working as Professor & Head for the School of Management Studies, Joginpally B. R. Engineering College, and Hyderabad, India.

    The college library has over 2000 books relating to various fields in Management, from different publishers and by different authors, which gives huge scope for the students to develop their knowledge. The library also gets a wide range of Biz-journals and Magazines. Books of General Interest and Dictionaries for various disciplines are also made available for instant reference.


    The college has a spacious air-conditioned computer lab with adequate systems. The systems are provided with UNIX and Windows operating systems with networking facilities. Software installed in computers are not only pertaining to the syllabus but also relating to the latest Statistical, Financial and Operations Research packages which are made available to the students to facilitate them for analysis of the Project works they undertake. In addition to this The Department is having Communication Lab with Advanced Software’s for English and Soft Skills Development

    • K. Ashwathy, student of MBA 4thSem participated and won FIRST PRIZE in the event of YOUNG MANAGER, NATIONAL LEVEL management meet at CMR College of Engineering and Technology.
    • USHA.T, SATHYA.B, & K. ASHWATHY students of MBA 4thSem were participated and won FIRST PRIZE in the event of AD-MAKING at state level management meet in Sree Datta Engineering College.
    • K. Ashwathy & P.Shravanthi, students of MBA 4thSem, were participated and received FIRST PRIZE in the event of CASE BREAKING at state level management meet at Annamacharya Engineering College.
    • Vijay Prasad, student of MBA 1stSem, was participated in state level management event and won 2nd prize
    Extra curricular:
    • MBA 4th SEM students were participated in inter college cricket cup tourney and placed NO 1 and received cup from TRR college of Engineering technology
    • MBA 4th SEM students were participated in inter college Akhil memorial cricket cup tourney and placed NO 1 and received cup
    • CARROMS: Usha.T & MADHURI.B, students were participated and won 2nd Prize
    • RANGOLI: students were participated and received applauds
    • We organized 10 days industrial tour to visit many industries which is very eminent in manufacturing area which are situated in and around Delhi &Gorgon, by this visit students had gained real time experience.
    • We organized an industrial visit to BHEL for students to impart their knowledge in various areas of management.
    • We organized a visit to Khadi Gramin village to encourage the students in the area of entrepreneurship especially in small scale industries development.
    • WE also organized an industrial visit to METRO for students to impart their knowledge in various areas of management especially in Marketing.
    • A seminar on FINANCIAL EDUCATION for young students’ workshop by Mr. N.HARI PRASAD had conducted to provide awareness about the importance of financial planning and different financial products TECHNICAL EVENTS: We have conducted many seminars and workshops in the academic year of 2010-2011 some of them are listed out
